Saturday, November 7 saw Llandudno thrust into the spotlight as 19 choirs from across the UK and Ireland descended for the 2009 North Wales Choral Festival.

After a fierce competition and much deliberation a winner from each section was announced as follows:

Youth:Côr Ieuenctid Môn
Mixed:Friday Voices
Ladies:Friday Voices
Male:Shifnal & District Male Voice Choir

The evening winners’ concert was well received and while an even tougher adjudication process took place the audience was entertained by Cân i Gymru winner Elfed Morgan Morris.

But, there had to be a winner and they were announced by compare Dilwyn Morgan as Friday Voices Mixed Choir. They received the overall winners’ trophy with pride and took away handsome winnings.

2010’s date has been confirmed as Saturday, November 6 and once again will be held in Venue Cymru, Llandudno
