Peter Broadbent

Peter Broadbent adjudicates at International Choral Competitions all over Europe and in the UK, and gives seminars and master classes in the UK, Europe, South Africa, the USA and Canada.  He is director of Choral Conducting Courses for the Association of British Choral Directors, having instigated and designed the curriculum for the courses. He was recently presented with the “Pro Cultura Hungarica” Prize by the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Hungary for his outstanding achievement in promoting Hungarian Music.

Nia Morgan

Studied Music at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, Cardiff -piano and organ being her two main instruments.

Living in Bala she is a Primary school Headteacher and has trained school choirs throughout her career and has had much success on national level at the Urdd National Eisteddfod. She is a renowned voice and piano tutor, organist and conductor of choirs and singing festivals

She is also a regular accompanist and adjudicator in our local Eisteddfod and has adjudicated on many occasion at Pan Celtic festivals in Ireland.

Islwyn Evans

Studied at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, Cardiff and awarded the British Federation of Youth Choirs Conducting Award as well as a Winston Churchill Fellowship to study the training of children’s choirs in Sweden and Hungary. He has represented the Association of British Choral Directors at choral conventions organised by its American sister association, the ACDA, at Boston and at Washington DC.

He is founder/director of YSGOL GERDD CEREDIGION whose achievements include numerous national and international awards as well as being the inaugural winner of S4C’s flagship choral competition ‘Côr Cymru’. He also directs CYWAIR which has enjoyed considerable success since its formation in 2002. This exciting chamber choir was awarded the prestigious ‘Fleischmann International Trophy’ at the 2004 Cork International Choral Festival and in 2005 gained the ultimate accolade of ‘Choir of the World’ at the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod and inaugural winners of the Pavarotti Trophy. Last year CYWAIR were crowned ‘Côr Cymru’ 2007.

Islwyn has directed numerous courses and is often in demand further a field as a guest tutor. He was musical director of the NATIONAL YOUTH CHOIR OF WALES between 2005-07. He has traveled extensively and has just returned from adjudicating at this year’s Eisteddfod in Patagonia.
